Job Responsibilities
The Lifting Engineer will support the rigging team during complex lifting operations. The work may include situations where detailed engineering calculations are needed before a lift can be carried out.
Key work areas include:
- Preparing and reviewing lifting plans
- Supporting complex crane and rigging operations
- Carrying out engineering calculations for lifting activities
- Checking load positioning and stability
- Assessing the center of gravity of loads
- Reviewing crane point loads
- Checking whether a pad foundation can withstand the load created by the crane
- Providing engineering input for heavy and critical lifts
- Supporting the rigging team during lifting operations
Experience Required
Candidates should have practical experience in lifting engineering and rigging operations, especially where engineering calculations are needed for critical or complex lifts.
Experience with situations such as placing a load on a pedestal, where the center of gravity is critical, or crane operations that create high point loads on foundations is relevant to this role.
LEEA Certificate
