Job Description
A company in Riyadh is hiring an experienced Accountant to manage daily accounting work, maintain financial records, handle ZATCA VAT compliance, and prepare financial reports for management.
The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of accounting experience in the Gulf, with Saudi Arabia experience preferred. Construction or contracting industry experience is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations and financial transactions.
- Maintain accurate accounting and financial records.
- Prepare and file VAT returns according to ZATCA requirements.
- Handle Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL).
- Prepare journal entries and bank reconciliations.
- Support monthly and yearly financial closing.
- Prepare documents and schedules for internal and external audits.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare financial analysis and management reports.
- Reconcile customer, supplier, bank, and balance sheet accounts.
- Review invoices, expenses, payments, and supporting documents.
- Handle accruals, prepayments, provisions, depreciation, and fixed assets.
- Support project accounting, job costing, retention, advances, and contract accounting when required.
- Coordinate with auditors, banks, suppliers, customers, and internal departments.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Requirements
- 3+ years of accounting experience in the Gulf region.
- Saudi Arabia accounting experience is preferred.
- Construction or contracting industry experience is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
- Practical experience with Saudi ZATCA VAT preparation and filing.
- Tally Prime experience is mandatory.
- Knowledge of other ERP systems is an advantage.
- Good understanding of AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, and journal entries.
- Strong knowledge of month-end and year-end closing.
- Good understanding of cash flow, financial analysis, and management reporting.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial data analysis.
- Good communication and analytical skills.
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
