A contracting company in Jubail is looking for an experienced Safety Officer to manage health, safety, and environmental requirements across project sites.
The role is suited to an HSE professional with experience in industrial contracting, oil and gas, civil construction, or plant maintenance in Saudi Arabia. The selected candidate will help identify workplace hazards, monitor site activities, and make sure workers follow the required safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Site Safety & Inspections
- Carry out daily site safety inspections
- Identify workplace hazards and unsafe conditions
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend corrective actions
- Monitor workers, subcontractors, equipment, and site activities
HSE Compliance
- Make sure site work follows client HSE requirements
- Monitor compliance with Saudi Aramco and local industrial safety standards
- Follow applicable OSHA requirements and local labor regulations
- Support internal and client safety audits
Permit to Work
Review and verify Permit to Work (PTW) requirements before work begins, including:
- Hot work
- Cold work
- Confined space entry
- Excavation
- Lifting activities
Toolbox Talks & Safety Training
- Conduct daily toolbox talks
- Provide site safety orientations for workers and subcontractors
- Explain job hazards and required control measures
- Promote safe working practices across the project
Incident Investigation
- Investigate near misses, injuries, and property damage
- Carry out root-cause analysis
- Prepare incident reports
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions
Emergency Preparedness
- Maintain emergency response procedures
- Inspect firefighting and emergency equipment
- Support evacuation drills
- Make sure workers understand emergency procedures
HSE Documentation
Prepare and maintain:
- Daily HSE reports
- Weekly safety reports
- Incident and near-miss records
- Safety inspection reports
- Safety performance summaries
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field
- NEBOSH IGC – Required
- OSHA 30-Hour or IOSH Managing Safely certification
- 3–5 years of Safety Officer experience
- Previous experience in Saudi Arabia
- Experience in industrial contracting, oil & gas, civil construction, or plant maintenance
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and workplace safety procedures
- Good understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment
- Good report writing skills
