Main Responsibilities
The Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial and cost side of infrastructure and structural construction projects.
Typical duties may include:
- Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
- Measure quantities from drawings and project documents
- Prepare cost estimates and project pricing
- Monitor construction costs and project budgets
- Review contractor quotations and material costs
- Check variations and additional work
- Assist with interim payment applications and valuations
- Review project costs against approved budgets
- Maintain accurate quantity and cost records
- Support tender preparation and commercial evaluations
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, consultants, and project teams
- Review construction drawings and specifications for quantity measurement
- Assist with contract and commercial documentation
- Report cost changes and other commercial issues to the project team
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- Good experience with infrastructure projects
- Experience with structural and construction projects
- Strong understanding of quantity measurement and cost estimation
- Knowledge of BOQ preparation and review
- Ability to read construction drawings and project specifications
- Understanding of construction contracts, variations, and project costs
- Good attention to detail
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to work with engineers, contractors, and consultancy teams
