Job Description
A company in Bahrain is looking for an experienced Construction Procurement Specialist to manage the purchase of construction materials, equipment, tools, and services.
The candidate should have hands-on experience with construction procurement, suppliers, subcontractors, quotations, purchase orders, and material delivery.
Candidates with strong construction procurement experience will be given priority.
Main Duties
- Manage procurement and purchasing for construction projects
- Find and evaluate local suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors
- Get, compare, and negotiate supplier quotations
- Prepare purchase orders and purchase requisitions
- Prepare quotation comparison sheets and procurement reports
- Review BOQs, drawings, material requests, and project specifications
- Check material prices, availability, and delivery times
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and site teams
- Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery to construction sites
- Coordinate material approvals
- Make sure purchased materials meet project specifications
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules
- Check supplier quality, delivery, and performance
- Maintain supplier, vendor, and subcontractor records
- Track pending purchase orders
- Monitor procurement schedules
- Identify material shortages, price increases, and possible delays
- Keep accurate procurement documents and records
- Help management reduce costs and improve purchasing efficiency
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of procurement or purchasing experience in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, equipment, and building services
- Good understanding of BOQs, construction specifications, and material requirements
- Experience dealing with construction suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors
- Strong negotiation and quotation comparison skills
- Experience in vendor evaluation
- Knowledge of the Bahrain construction market and local suppliers is an advantage
- Good knowledge of purchasing procedures and procurement documents
- Experience with inventory coordination
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and Microsoft Office
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Must be currently available in Bahrain
- Immediate joiners are preferred

This position is mainly for candidates with practical construction procurement experience.
Candidates who have experience sourcing construction materials and services for building projects will be given priority. Applicants without relevant construction procurement experience may not be considered.
