Job Description
A company in Bahrain is looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a strong construction industry background.
The candidate should have good experience in quantity surveying, cost control, tender documents, contracts, BOQs, and project accounts.
Male candidates with construction experience only are preferred.
Requirements
Education
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering
- Good knowledge of computer software
- Knowledge of two-dimensional and three-dimensional drawings
Experience
- 5+ to 10+ years of experience in the same field
- Strong experience in the construction industry is required
Software Skills
Knowledge of the following is an important requirement:
- Primavera
- MS Project
- Other project management and construction software
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Visit project sites with project engineers and supervisors
- Take measurements and understand customer requirements
- Prepare prequalification documents
- Prepare tender and contract documents
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
- Prepare and check project cost estimates
- Analyse BOQs and project costs
- Handle cost control and value management
- Identify and manage commercial risks
- Help with procurement planning and strategy
- Prepare responses to commercial risks
- Provide advice on contractual claims
- Prepare the final project account
- Support project engineers and teams with quantity surveying work
