VETIC is hiring an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor / Estimation Engineer to support electrical construction projects, tendering, cost estimation, and project cost control.
The role focuses on BOQ preparation, electrical quantity take-offs, cost planning, variations, and financial reporting for electrical works, including substations and power distribution networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for electrical works.
- Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings and verify quantities at project sites.
- Support tender estimation and cost calculations.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, variations, and financial performance.
- Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and project cost updates.
- Assist with cost planning and value engineering.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements.
- Work with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and other departments.
- Maintain accurate quantity, cost, and project documentation.
- Help ensure projects stay within budget and meet contractual and quality requirements.
Requirements
- Strong experience in electrical BOQ preparation and quantity surveying.
- Good knowledge of quantity take-off for electrical systems, including:
- Substations
- Power distribution networks
- Medium voltage systems
- Electrical materials and installations
- Good understanding of cost control and cost management.
- Experience with cost planning, cost reporting, and project forecasting.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, technical specifications, and contracts.
- Experience with quantity surveying or estimating software.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong English communication and teamwork skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Professional certifications are an advantage.
- Previous experience in electrical quantity surveying, estimation, or cost engineering for power distribution or similar projects.
