Job Description
A company in Bahrain is hiring an experienced Procurement Engineer – Construction to manage the purchase of construction materials, equipment, tools, and services.
The candidate should have practical experience in construction procurement and be able to work with project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and site teams.
The main goal is to make sure materials and services are purchased on time, meet project requirements, and stay within the project budget.
Main Duties
- Manage procurement of construction materials, equipment, tools, and services
- Review BOQs, drawings, material specifications, and project requirements
- Find and evaluate local suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors
- Get, compare, and negotiate supplier quotations
- Prepare purchase orders and material requisitions
- Prepare quotation comparison sheets and procurement documents
- Check material prices, availability, and delivery times
- Coordinate with engineering and site teams about material requirements
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery to project sites
- Check supplier pricing, quality, performance, and delivery
- Maintain approved supplier and vendor records
- Coordinate material approvals
- Make sure purchased materials meet project specifications
- Track procurement schedules and identify possible delays or shortages
- Help control procurement costs and meet project budget targets
- Maintain quotations, purchase orders, delivery records, and other procurement documents
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Procurement, or a related field
- 3+ years of procurement experience in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and building services
- Good understanding of BOQs, drawings, specifications, and material requirements
- Experience working with construction suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors
- Strong negotiation and quotation comparison skills
- Knowledge of the Bahrain construction market and local suppliers is an advantage
- Good knowledge of procurement procedures and documentation
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, coordination, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Must be currently available in Bahrain
- Immediate joiners are strongly preferred
Important Information
Candidates with strong construction procurement experience and practical experience sourcing materials and services for active construction projects will be given priority.
Candidates without relevant construction procurement experience may not be considered.
