Job Description
A company in Bahrain is hiring an experienced QS Engineer (Quantity Surveyor) with strong experience in construction projects, quantity surveying, cost control, and commercial work.
The role includes quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, cost estimates, variations, subcontractor evaluation, project cost monitoring, and payment certification.
Candidates with hands-on experience on active construction projects will be given priority.
Main Duties
- Prepare and review BOQs, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and cost plans
- Measure quantities from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents
- Identify project scope and required quantities
- Get and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and material expenses
- Prepare and evaluate variations, change orders, and additional works
- Prepare interim payment applications and valuations
- Assist with subcontract administration and commercial documents
- Compare actual project costs with approved budgets
- Prepare monthly cost reports and cost forecasts
- Prepare cost reconciliation statements
- Assist with final accounts and contractual claims
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Maintain records of quantities, costs, variations, and contracts
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 3+ years of Quantity Surveying experience in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of building construction and construction cost management
- Good knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, measurement, and valuation
- Experience with variations, claims, interim payments, and final accounts
- Able to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Good knowledge of construction materials, labour costs, and subcontractor pricing
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel
- Experience with quantity surveying or cost management software
- Good analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
- Must be currently available in Bahrain
- Immediate joiners are strongly preferred
Important Information
Candidates with strong construction experience and practical quantity surveying experience will be given priority.
Experience in commercial and cost-related work on active construction projects is preferred.
